    Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth was born and raised in Santa Clara County, California. He grew up with his mother, Vicky Bosworth, on a farm in Saratoga and was involved in agriculture since he was a child with endeavors.

  • 13. One Of The First 15 Engineers At Facebook

    Bosworth started his professional journey as a developer at Microsoft. He later got a call from a recruiter looking for candidates with an AI background, and he joined Facebook in 2006 as one of the first 15 Engineers.

    In 2012, Bosworth took the initiative to transition between mobile and desktop advertising, and in August 2017, Facebook CTO Mike Schroepfer announced that Bosworth had been promoted to vice president.

    In June 2016, Bosworth wrote a memo that circulated  internally within Facebook titled “The Ugly.” That was about arguing that the paramount goal of Facebook was to connect people and to justify many companies’ practices.

    The memo also acknowledged that this could have some negative consequences, such as being used by terrorists to attack via coordinated through Facebook. The memo was written by Andrew a day after a man’s shooting and death in Chicago was recorded through Facebook Live.

    11. Andrew Has Worked 120 Hours Per Week

    At that time, he used to sleep no longer than 4 hours cause he was supposed to check the report and see if anyone was attacking the site. In the process of working with the movies, he used to work for 120 hours a week.

    The hard work paid off. Bosworth said he had no hobbies till those days and wouldn’t even fantasize about the story after being a success.
