Today, HTC unveils Vive Focus Vision, a new virtual reality (VR) headset featuring color passthrough and improved PC tethering support compared to previous Vive Focus 3. The $999 Focus Vision can be preordered on HTC’s website through October 17.
Focus Vision can be either standalone or tethered to your PC via USB-C. It’s basically an improved Focus 3, released back in 2021. It features the same 2448 x 2448 per-eye resolution and 120-degree field of view from the previous version.
A Snapdragon XR2 chip also powers it. The device is exciting with its features and specs. Now letting you know about the information about the fascinating features it has.

The device introduces features like dual 16MP cameras with color passthrough, which can also automatically compensate for the distance between your eyes to focus the lenses.
HTC unveils Vive Focus Vision, which is targeting gamers with this headset. One of those is foveated rendering, a fancy way of saying it can focus its graphical resources only on where you are looking and not across your whole field of view simultaneously.

HTC also claims that the Focus Vision includes DisplayPort support through USB-C, which allows for a lossless connection when connected to a PC. After an upcoming update, the DisplayPort connection will be able to boost the display’s refresh rate from the usual 90Hz to 120Hz.
The internal storage capacity is 128 GB, expandable to 2 TB with a microSD slot. It also has 12 GB of RAM, an upgrade from 8 GB in the previous model.

All Accessories Developed: The Focus 3 Also Works On The Focus Vision
The integrated battery can power the Focus Vision for 20 minutes, allowing you to replace the primary power pack if you deplete its approximately two-hour battery life. The company also announced a new addition: a fan pulling 30 percent more air through for better cooling.
The head strap also received some attention. Dan O’Brien, President of the Americas at HTC, acknowledged that users can be quite demanding. However, he mentioned that this feedback helped the company identify areas for improvement in the design of Focus 3.
As a result, HTC enhanced the metal hook at the back, improved topside handling, and made adjustments to the side arms.
HTC has revealed the Vive Focus Vision aims to attract consumers who use other types of VR headsets. These include last year’s Vive XR Elite, a lighter $1,099 headset that does color passthrough video but has lower-resolution screens than the Vision.
The company also offers a “choice of three popular game bundles.” People who preorder before October 17th will receive a free kit with a 5-meter-long USB-C cable, DP 1.4 alternate mode support, and a few adapters for PC VR streaming.
