  • NASA’s EVA activity has taken a backseat as news regarding NASA ISS spacewalk rescheduled has broken out! What’s the reason, and what’s next after the sudden halt?

Well, stay tuned to the end of this article to identify!

    NASA ISS Spacewalk Rescheduled

NASA ISS spacewalk was supposed to take place on the 13th of June, 2024, yet a sudden reschedule has surfaced.

  • Apparently, astronauts Tracy Dyson and Matt Dominick were destined to take the lead in the Space Station’s (ISS) 90th extravehicular activity (EVA 90), but a suit discomfort popped up!

As the mission was already receiving all greens and most spacesuits were outfitted thoroughly, the cancellation call came when Matt Dominick experienced suit discomfort.

According to NASA’s ISS program manager, Dana Weigel, the abort was announced just an hour before the departure, causing the NASA ISS spacewalk rescheduled news to break out.

What Consequences Would Follow Given The Rescheduling?

The canceling of the EVA, which was once already on its way to commencement, would potentially leave work outside the station stale and unfinished.

  • Not just that, unidentified risks to astronaut welfare could also spill out.

Following the rescheduling, Dyson is all geared up for the mission on June 24, but with Dominick’s replacement astronaut, Mike Barratt.

NASA already had plans for Barratt to be deported for the upcoming EVAs, and as Dominick’s issue arose, Matt became the perfect fit for this 90th EVA.

  • Upcoming June 24 And 3 EVAs Details

On June 24, Dyson and Barratt will rocket up for the same objective: retrieving a degraded communications antenna computer control box called a radio frequency group.

EVA 90 was the first in a series of three EVAs drafted this summer. Now that June 13 is canceled, ISS Expedition 71 crew members must complete the work in only two EVAs.

The reason is the fact that the station’s oxygen supply was allocated for three spacewalks; however, last week’s preps sucked up almost the entirety of Oxygen.

NASA ISS Spacewalk Rescheduled for 24th June might invite some resistance given the lack of oxygen and time. However, we hope the spacewalk goes smoothly and gracefully!
