Forbes states that it’s based on the Ultium EV platform, which has 19 drive and battery configurations and two electric motors power it. The modular architectural energy options range from 50 to 200 kWh, providing an estimated range of up to 400 miles. The car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3 seconds.
The intended low-volume production process enables GM to decrease manufacturing costs by utilizing additive manufacturing processes and soft tooling for flexibility.
In some circumstances, the number of parts has been reduced to facilitate assembly. For example, the primary chassis is formed from six big castings, manufactured in front/rear/central modules, split left/right, and welded together.

Furthermore, Ultra Cruise supposedly travels over two million miles across the United States and Canada, encompassing streets, suburbs, and country highways. It is designed to handle 95% of all driving situations. However, the system still requires a driver to oversee the hands-free mode.

The future ultra-luxury flagship vehicle will be priced significantly higher than the Cadillac Lyriq’s mid-$60,000 sticker, closer to $340,000, with only 500 cars made each year.
