  • Audeze announces CRBN2 headphones, the award-winning company’s most innovative and advanced pair of electrostatic headphones yet.

For the first time in its history, the firm has used its patent-pending technology, SLAM technology. What’s that? Well, it’s a new feature that provides a more immersive listening experience to your ears.

This latest addition changes the brand’s value and impression, as well as its electrostatic headphones technology. Today, let’s explore this new technology integrated into these innovative headphones.

  • The SLAM Feature

SLAM stands for Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator technology. The feature provides a bigger bass response and more sonic transparency. The new SLAM technology optimizes low-frequency performance, boosting air pressure distribution around the drivers without increasing distortion.

Audeze announces CRBN2 headphones results that people get from a pair of these headphones, making it a headphone that delivers lifelike bass with rich and holographic spatial imaging with powerful sounds.

Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram says CRBN2 represents a significant advancement in electrostatic technology. They have introduced the innovative SLAM system, designed to provide unparalleled bass and transparency, setting a new standard for electrostatic headphones.

They aim to craft an immersive experience that authentically revitalizes music, utilizing Audeze’s renowned audio innovations. The SLAM acoustic system is optimized to boost specific low frequencies while enhancing phase response.

  • Audeze claims that SLAM delivers a natural and palpable bass response for the CRBN2, surpassing other electrostatic headphones on the market, which are occasionally faulted for their somewhat subdued bass.

CRBN2 Handcrafted Headphones: Verified In California

The CRBN2 headphones are handcrafted and verified in California and made with top-quality materials, such as leather for the ear cushions and carbon fiber in the headband. Weighing 480g, they lack bulky magnets and can be used with all 580-volt bias electrostatic amplifiers.

Audeze announces CRBN2 headphones line was the outcome of research led by Professor Mark S Cohen, PhD, and his team at the UCLA School of Medicine. Their research focused on developing headphones suitable for use in MRI scanners.

  • The strong magnetic fields in MRI machines necessitated a unique, non-ferrous driver design, which led to the creation of the carbon-nanotube film-based electrostatic driver. This technology has since been adapted and improved for use in the CRBN2.

Like all electrostatic headphones, the CRBN2 requires an amplifier with an electrostatic output using a 580VDC bias, also known as Stax Pro Bias. The headphones are compatible with various amplifiers available in the market, ensuring users can enjoy their CRBN 2 with their current audio systems.

    Price & Availability

Audeze announces CRBN2 headphones availability as well. If you are willing to purchase them, you can visit the official site or other retail stores online. The Audeze CRBN2 Headphones will cost you $5995.

The over-ear, open-back headphones feature a push-pull electrostatic transducer type with Stax Pro Bias, an ultra-thin polyimide film diaphragm with infused carbon nanotubes, SLAM Technology for earcup pressure relief and bass enhancement.

  • At that price, you would also get a 10Hz—40kHz frequency response, >120dB maximum SPL, 100dB sensitivity at 1KHz, a 2.5m OCC monocrystal copper cable, and premium leather earpads.
