  • Aqara is renowned for its smart home appliances, which focus on security without compromising design and aesthetics.

The new Voice Mate H1 from Aqara is the latest home assistance device based on Copilot and has a built-in microphone.

H1 has created a lot of buzz due to its privacy feature. It activates its microphone only after it’s picked up.

  • The New Voice Mate H1 From Aqara Prioritizes Privacy

With the latest Voice Mate H1, the days of fearing your home assistant constantly listening to you are gone.

Aqara, a leading company in securing homes with AI-integrated technologies, has announced its Voice Mate H1, which has several privacy features.

The Voice Mate H1 has a unique privacy feature. It operates uniquely by activating its microphone only when the user picks up the device.

H1 does not continuously listen for wake phrases like “Hey Google” or “Alexa.” However, this eliminates the ability to use H1 as a hands-free voice assistant.

Aqara’s eccentric approach allows users to control when the device listens to voice commands, offering a sense of privacy that traditional smart speakers may lack.

The company introduced the Voice Mate H1 at IFA 2024 as part of its new smart home products lineup. It features a portable design and up to one year of battery life, making it convenient for controlling your smart home.

How Does Voice Mate H1 Works

Integrated with Aqara’s Co-Pilot assistant, which utilizes large language models, the Voice Mate H1 allows users to interact with their smart home devices and trigger specific actions through natural language commands.

The Co-pilot is responsible for all the Artificial Intelligence and supports a range of Aqara’s Matter-compatible Zigbee devices.

  • Despite not having speakers for verbal feedback, the device’s focus on privacy and user-controlled activation sets it apart from other voice-controlled systems.

The Voice Mate H1 also requires using Aqara’s Hub M3 to function. This device is central to Aqara’s smart home ecosystem.

The Aqara hub supports advanced Matter bridging for seamless integration with other Matter-compatible devices.

While the new Voice Mate H1 from Aqara works seamlessly with Aqara’s devices, users planning to integrate it with third-party smart home tech must ensure compatibility with the Aqara Hub-M3.
