Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering and Software giant NVIDIA collaborated to deploy an AI-powered supercomputer for student use.

The hub of Nvidia with Georgia Tech 1st AI Supercomputer will provide access to undergraduate students. Penguin Solutions developed the AI infrastructure to provide a virtual gateway to a high-performance computing environment.

Georgia Tech AI Makerspace Initiative

Georgia Tech and Nvidia established an AI supercomputer hub for students. The initiative titled The AI Makerspace focuses on undergrad students. Likewise, it aims to provide access to computing resources and help shape the technology’s future applications.

Nvidia with Georgia Tech 1st AI Supercomputer can support advanced AI and machine learning efforts. Southern Company chair and the college dean Raheem Beyah mentioned that the AI Makerspace represents another milestone in Georgia Tech’s innovation.

Recently, we got to hear major announcements such as Nike’s AI Sneakers and Meta’s AI Chips. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech’s collaboration with NVIDIA will be able to teach students beyond traditional computing.

What Is the Idea of Nvidia With Georgia Tech 1st AI Supercomputer?

It is powered by 20 NVIDIA HGX H100 systems and 160 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs.

Each individual eight-GPU HGX H100 system can achieve 480 teraflops of FP64 compute power. Similarly, the system could potentially offer around 10 AI petaflops of computer power.

The AI Supercomputer concentrates on sharpening the skills of students and leading students in the rapidly emerging field of AI. However, the initial objective was only available for researchers and renowned companies.

The students will also be able to work with AI professionals and understand how AI works in the real world.

Future of Georgia Tech’s AI Supercomputer
