Recently, on June 13, 2024, a ground-breaking collaboration was made between Houston-based renewable energy retailer Octopus Energy and electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian.

According to the announcement, the Octopus Energy US collab with Rivian will provide an exclusive one hundred percent energy plan to the car company’s customers in Texas, United States. So, let’s discuss about this collaboration.

What Does the Collaboration Mean?

As soon as the announcement was made, it was evident that Rivian customers in the US state of Texas would get an exclusive energy plan powered to their houses and vehicles. It will be powered by one hundred percent renewable energy.

Octopus Energy is one of the eligible energy providers in Texas. Thus, the plan is only available to Rivian customers.

Texans can access a time-of-use energy rate plan with an overnight off-peak cost discounted by up to 50%, allowing for clean, inexpensive electric vehicle charging.

The new Rivian plan encourages Texans to charge overnight between 10 PM and 6 AM to reduce grid stress. After 90 days, participating Rivian customers will receive an additional $150 credit on their Octopus Energy bill.
