  • The rise in technological advancement has given rise to multiple robotics companies over the years. One of them is China-based automation machinery manufacturer Unitree. Recently, the company launched its new robot called G1.

Therefore, today, we will take a look at the Unitree G1 humanoid robot, its features, price, and competitors.

    A Short Info About Unitree

Chinese Unitree Robotics is a Hangzhou-based automation machinery manufacturer. It is a world-renowned robotics company focusing on independent research and developing high-performance quadruped robots.

  • Unitree Robotics is an industry leader in robot core components, movement control, and robot perception.

Like Menteebot and UBTech Walker Robot, Unitree has also created some amazingly performing humanoid robots.

Unitree is back with another fantastic invention. The new G1 humanoid robot is the successor to the H1 humanoid robot. While the H1 cost over $90,000, the new model apparently costs $16,000.

The Chinese company is not the only one competing to leave its mark on robotics development. Boston Dynamics‘ revamped Atlas bot and Tesla‘s Optimus have already performed excellently.

However, with a price tag of $16,000, the G1 humanoid robot will surely give tough competition to Atlas bot and Optimus. The robot was built with up to 43 joint motors for limb articulation.

Similarly, Unitree used a three-finger hand instead of a normal human hand. Despite that, it has fantastic mobility in its finger to catch, select, and smash walnuts and open up soda or beer bottles.

Talking about robots, did you know Hiroshi Ishiguro created his look-alike robot?

Other Features of the New Humanoid Robot

Regarding physical appearance, the Unitree G1 Humanoid Robot is four feet two inches tall and shorter than the H1. Also, the G1 can run at a speed of 4.5 mph.

  • Furthermore, the humanoid robot has decent endurance. It remains balanced even after getting some kicks and punches.

The G1 is powered by a quick-release battery that lasts two hours. As for the A.I. that drives it, Unitree has only revealed that it would run on imitation and reinforcement-driven learning.

Therefore, it looks like there is a new player in the market in the race to be crowned the king of humanoid robots. Let’s see what the future holds for Unitree and G1.
