Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta recently announced that it is opening up its Horizon Operating System to third-party hardware partners. This move will assist others in designing more headsets for its ecosystem.

The recently released news of Meta’s MTIA V2 chips spread like wildfire. But wait, they have one more exciting news. Meta is licensing its Meta Quest’s Horizon Operating System to other manufacturers.

Mark revealed some of the partners: Lenovo, Asus, and Xbox.

According to multiple sources, Lenovo will collaborate with Meta to create general-purpose headsets focusing on learning, productivity, and entertainment.

Similarly, ASUS will develop a gaming headset, whereas Microsoft will closely work with Meta to create limited-edition Meta Quest headphones inspired by Xbox.

Moreover, Zuckerburg is also in talks with Google to get the Google Play app store to Horizon-based headsets. He also said there would be more collaboration, and the revelation would be done at the right time.

The chairman and CEO of Meta said that Meta is gearing up to make the open model of Horizon OS to define the next generation of mixed-reality headsets.
